“All-Natural“ or herbal diet pill products are not always harmless. Many herbs have a long history of use in good health and also in treatments of illnesses. A herb is a plant or a part of plant, which are used for its smell, flavor and therapeutic elements. Even though they are “100% naturalâ€, weight loss herb products aren’t necessarily safe or without harmful effects because many plants can also be poisonous.
Different from prescription drugs, herbal products are not regulated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). These herbal products are not tested and fully certified before they are released into the market. The side effects of the active ingredients found in many herbal medicines still remain unidentified. Some products have been found to contain metals, unidentified prescription drugs or other substances that may cause health risks.
Since herbal products are not tested, they can cause certain health problems or complications. It is not advisable to take herb weight loss products if you have the following medical problems/conditions:
• Heart disease
• Epilepsy
• Depression or psychiatric
• Hypertension
• Thyroid problems
• Parkinson’s disease
• Blood-clotting problems
• Enlarged prostrate gland
• Glaucoma
• Diabetes
• Liver problems
• History of stroke or organ transplant
Women, particularly those who are pregnant or nursing, should be careful when it comes to using natural weight loss products, as well as with people who are about to undergo surgery. Always consult your health care provider before taking any herbal diet products if you take any medications (whether prescription medicine or over-the-counter). Some herb diet products may interact with other medications which may pose risk to your health.
